PROJ-650: Monitoring and Control

In many projects, stakeholder disconnects occur that can be attributed to a lack of communication. The Project Manager must find a way to ensure that all stakeholders understand the need for resources so that the project is a success. Reporting updates are one of the most effective means of communication because it allows for project risks and challenges to be identified. Once these challenges are identified, it will make it easier for project managers to make clear his resource needs, especially when there are conflicting interests.

Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:

As we have learned, monitoring and control is crucial throughout the life of the project. In this scenario, it is clear something needs to be done to explain the importance of the work and the need for additional resources.

  3. Use the Status Report PowerPoint Template (PPTX) to collect your thoughts and provide an explanation and ensure everyone is on the same page moving forward.
  4. Since we learned that monitoring and controlling are crucial throughout the life of the project, what would you explain to your project sponsor to help them see the importance of your work and the need for resources.
    1. Make sure you explain in the presentation how you will communicate moving forward.
