During the execution phase of a project, work is being completed. In many instances, the work being completed may not meet the standards required for the project to deliver the product/service per the requirements. The real issue is that customer value will in some way be compromised and the project considered a failure. Therefore, as the leader of the project, a project manager must use his or her technical expertise and devise an assessment plan to ensure that the important project activities are monitored and controlled to ensure the deliverables aren’t compromised.
For this assignment, the key for the project manager is to determine the control points in the project, create project metrics for those control points and then assess the results using the metrics created.

Background Information
Quality is a constant, and it must be monitored throughout the life of a project. If there are issues that happen, action must be taken to identify the issue, diagnose it and act. There are different quality tools that can be used to help with this process. However, there are instances where the project manager must use their technical expertise to create tools like metrics to best fit the quality initiative in question. And once those results are known the project manager must communicate to stakeholders what the results mean.
