BIS-460: Business Systems Analysis and Design. Project creation, development, and management are not part of a process that was developed with the advancement of modern society; they are the application of skills that have been around since the beginning of time. They are found as part of the creation of Heaven and Earth. And we find throughout the Bible that God is and will always be the ultimate project manager. In Workshop One’s Bible readings, we explore different passages where God is the project manager, directly controlling each step of His master plan.

The creation and development of His project are found at the beginning of the Bible in Genesis 1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (New International Version, 1973/2011, Genesis 1:1). Earth was created in just six days. Each day presented a new milestone to be met. According to Genesis 1, on the first day God created light and day, and ended on the sixth day when God created man: “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (New International Version, 1973/2011, Genesis 1:27). Through His infinite wisdom and leadership, He completed the project’s time frame.

God is known for many things including His role as project manager. Like any good leader, He took control of the project when it went astray, and He put the project back on course. Titus 2:11 states, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people” (New International Version, 1973/2011).

Much like any other project, directions are given to follow to complete His plan. Romans 12 shows us God commands us not to conform to the World but to follow His plan. While in 2 Corinthians Chapter 5, our faith in His leadership is reconciled in the love that He has for us.

We find that we live our lives as projects as well and that we are stakeholders in His master plan. Like with any project, we often face failures, setbacks, and missed deadlines in our lives. But as our faith in God continues to grow, we find our own projects begin to align with the master plan that God has created. Realizing this helps us to strive to meet the project’s ultimate purpose, to truly discover we are His and He is ours.

3. Using Microsoft Word, answer the following reflection questions from your reading:
   1. Review the structure of your life now; what role does God play as project manager in your life?
   2. Your life can be broken down by different processes: birth, school, relationships, etc. How do they compare to steps in an SDLC?
   3. With society facing illness, civil unrest, etc., as a Christian, what might you include in your plan to help navigate these difficulties?
4. When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself.
